Hello Athens! I am a board certified Internal Medicine physician starting a new practice in Athens, Georgia and I’m accepting new patients. With the direct primary care model we acknowledge that in today’s world, health insurance is often a hindrance in how you interact with your physician. As a result your doctor can only spend a few fleeting minutes with you before scurrying along to the next patient. This is because of the reduced pay and increasing administrative requirements these companies have placed on primary care doctors, causing them to try and squeeze in more patients just to meet their overhead costs. The average primary care physician carries a patient load of around 2000 patients, compared to a direct primary care physician who carries a patient load of 600 – 800 patients. By cutting out the middle man we are able to spend more time taking care of our patients and getting to know them, the way it used to be. In order to do this we offer a monthly subscription model that allows you to readily be able to contact your physician and see them in a timely manner.
